Boney's music is great. I listen to it everyday. I have every album and see him whenever possible. His style is so unique-it's not jazz, it's not smooth jazz. I guess fusion jazz is the best way to classify it. He plays with wonderful singers and has fantastic solo's too.

Brother Moore has some keen observations about Mr. Rubio. I don't believe Mr. Rubio has the national pull to affect voting patterns amoung women, young voters and his own latino community nationally. He's just a regional player that's getting national play.

The film is a simple and brilliantly entertaining take on a complex social issue. The above review is narrow and typical of "comparative critiquing", i.e. one only knows how to relate to art by comparing it to other art they've seen. Though I can agree with Hawkins' assimilations of modern relationships that are mirrored in the film -- it's just that: a film, by filmmakers that clearly pushed the boundaries of a typical urban comedy. The editing alone spiced up what could have been, or maybe was, uninteresting slice-of-life footage. But that's filmmaking. Finding a way to make it work. And this film works, regardless of an opinion about where a young reviewer "thinks" a plot point should and shouldn't happen. My advice: make a film yourself, figure out how to stitch together a life in pictures, in sound, and then present it to the world. Then write down what you believe to be an honest review and not just idle chit-chat people do while walking their dogs. That's not experience, that's becoming an expert on how to pick up dog $h!t, or cat $h!t if you're one of them kind. My point is, Exit Strategy, though not a tent pole production, as other articles have reported, made for under 100k -- an impossible feat for any modern day major movie theater-released film -- it feels like one, acts like one, and deserves to to looked at like one, because of the acting, directing, editing, and marketing. I love film and have seen more than my share of bad ones. This is NOT one of them in any way. I came across this review trying to learn more about recent black films that don't depict black people in the movies as drug dealers, gangsters and so on, and was delighted to discover that a film like this was playing in theaters -- so I went to go see it (Baldwin Hills). I give it a fists up for "Hell yeah!" And this review a poop-finger down for not exploring the details of what makes complex situations easy to follow on screen. Props for thinking it's funny though, because it is.
